Dura Slab Fibreglass Duct Covers, Gully Covers, Structural Flooring & Trench Cover

Duct Covers

Dura Slab is ideal for new constructions and replacements for duct covers but is also well suited for refurbishment applications to replace old, heavy & cumbersome traditional flooring materials and covers. The characteristics of Dura Slab make it more favourable for duct covers rather than using steel, timber or concrete systems due to its lower weight, anti-slip surface, ease of installation and absence of maintenance.

Gully Covers & Trench Covers

Dura Slab ideal for gully covers & trench covers is BS EN 124 approved. This European standard applies to gully covers, trench covers and manhole tops for vehicular and pedestrian areas. In order to reach this approval a Dura Slab panel of 74mm thickness and 1280mm span was subjected to a load equivalent to two thirds of the Class B test load, 83.3kN, and then reduced to zero.

Structural Flooring

Dura Slab is a fibreglass structural flooring system manufactured using a unique construction technique that provides an incredible strength to weight ratio. Two high strength fibreglass solid plates are bonded to each side of a fibreglass mesh core material producing a composite structural flooring structure that is stiff, strong, light-weight, non-corrosive with an anti-slip walking surface.

Dura Profile - Fibreglass Pultruded Sections

Fibreglass Pultruded Sections

We are one of the leading companies in composite technology in Europe, specialising in the production of pultruded profiles.

Pultruded composite sections are manufactured by combining various resins with pure fibre reinforcement. They are formed and cured in a continuous process creating a product of extraordinary strength and resilience. The resultant profile offers a combination of benefits and mechanical properties exceeding those of metal.

Fibreglass Grating Ltd. has 35 years experience in the Fibreglass composite industry and is the largest UK pultruded profile stockist in the UK.

Benefits of Pultrusion

The Fibreglass Pultrusion process provides exceptional strength, toughness and consistency. Pultrusions offer a number of advantages over traditional materials such as steel, aluminium and timber and their use is increasing across a wide range of applications and industries.

The almost infinite variety of possible profiles allows a high degree of design freedom. Tailored properties such as strength, stiffness, weight and colour can be engineered by product design at the early stages of development.

Exceptional Strength

On a weight to weight basis, pultrusions are stronger than structural steel. By varying the type and orientation of the reinforcements, various mechanical properties can be obtained and tensile strengths in excess of 1000 MPa are achievable. Considerable design freedom can be gained by the capability of adding extra strength in highly stressed areas. The excellent impact strength can reduce damage potential caused by accidental collisions.
Substantial Weight Advantage Over Metal

Weighing up to 80% less than steel and 30% less than aluminium, Dura Profile offers equivalent performance for considerably less weight. This results in major weight savings and lower installed costs due to more economical transportation, handling and on site positioning.

The high strength to weight ratio has particular relevance for many applications including walkways, sub-floor platforms, bridges, aerospace components, structural applications, cooling towers, waste water treatment and oil and gas installations.

Anti Fatigue Matting

Fibreglass Grating Ltd are suppliers of low cost interlocking rubber floor tiles with anti-fatigue benefits which is a simple yet effective solution to the problems. The anti fatigue matting tiles have the following features. Made from hard wearing natural rubber, slip resistant, tile size 0.9m x 0.9m and conforms to slip resistant test EN13552 category RIO . Fibreglass Grating Ltd also offers a free advisory service by our technical experts and can provide working samples for testing purposes.

It is very important that the anti fatigue matting is carefully selected to suit the environment. For wet or oily conditions, mats with open holes are best suited so as to provide a channel for spilt liquids that would otherwise pose a slip hazard. For higher temperature environments then our hard wearing anti fatigue matting such as our Solid Top tiles would be the answer. Solid mat surfaces are more suitable for dry locations. Where frequent turning is necessary, it is wise to opt for a mat with a heavy duty surface to maximise durability.

Safety Matting

Fibreglass Grating has introduced a new range of safety matting which promises to significantly reduce cases of slips and trips. For personnel who spend the majority of their workday on their feet, the rubber safety matting is designed to alleviate fatigue and discomfort in the lower legs and feet and has proved highly effective in reducing the workplace-caused back pain which accounts for 150 million lost working days every year.

Safety matting also absorbs moisture and water and is impervious to most acids, oils and chemicals. The hard wearing surface can withstand high temperatures and spillage of hot materials. Highly durable it is easy to clean and provides a simple, long term solution to workplace safety and comfort. The interlocking mats are supplied in solid or open grid form to fit any sized area. Yellow borders are available to make edges more easily visible and the sloping edges create easy movement for trollys and other wheeled access.

Rubber Matting

Our rubber matting is ideal for garages, workshops, utility rooms, gyms, gardens and play areas, caravan awnings and many more uses! It is also ideal for use for safety and child protection around paddling pools, sandpits, and swing/climbing frames or simply as a cushioned mat for young children or babies to play on safely.

Rubber matting can also be laid on the floor of workshops, garages or home gyms and multi-gym equipment rooms. Rubber matting also protects laminate floors and acts as a shock absorber for multi-gym equipment.

Floor Matting

Floor matting is well suited for gymnasiums. Solid Top Rubber floor matting protects flooring from damage usually caused by the impact from dropping barbells in gyms. The rubber mats have cushioning features that protect free weight floors from scuffs and other damage. Many gym clubs have used Rubber floor matting for personal safety. Available in 16mm thicknesses, Rubber matting is a solid, durable material that is easy to install.
